Carol Pappas was diagnosed with ductal carcinoma in situ in her left breast in 2002, at the age of 66, and underwent a mastectomy. A wellness consultant (www.nikken.com/carolpappas), she shares her life with her husband, three children, ten grandchildren, one great-grandchild, a horse, a German shepherd, and a cat.
Carol’s purpose in life is to experience joy as a result of honoring God, her family, and her friends. Her goal in everything she does in life is to look at the value of each activity. This has caused her to downsize her belongings and streamline her activities. She is guided by the question “If you had only 30 days to live, what would you do?” Soli Deo Gloria!
As both a survivor and now a caregiver for her husband, who has non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, she is an encourager and supporter to all touched by cancer. In addition, she is pursuing a two-year program in conversational Spanish with the goal of eventually helping in an orphanage in Mexico.
